Conference on Statistical Practice (CSP) 2023
Presentations
The ASA Ethical Guidelines for Statistical Practice (ASA 2022) promote ethical decision making for statistical practitioners irrespective of job title, level, or field of degree. That is, they pertain whenever the individual engages in any of these aspects of statistical practice, which includes designing the collection of, summarizing, processing, analyzing, interpreting, or presenting, data; as well as model or algorithm development and deployment. While the Guidelines are essential to assure ethical statistical practice, they also help practical decision making in terms of: A. Study Design, Data Management, Data Collection, and Analysis; B. Effective Communication; and C. Career, Professional, and Leadership Development. In this session, after an overview of the Guidelines themselves, speakers will describe how practitioners can utilize the Guidelines in each of these contexts, across the career span. Examples will demonstrate how the Guidelines can be leveraged to shape and guide ethical practitioners' decision-making in government, industry, and academia while assuring ethical practice.
