Session Description:

In this rapidly evolving and increasingly data-driven world, statisticians are needed more than ever to assume leadership roles to help spur innovation, shape policy, and solve complex problems across different sectors. This panel brings together a diverse and accomplished group of statisticians from academia, government, and industry who will discuss their professional journeys, how they evolved from being a statistician to their current leadership roles, strategies for developing leadership skills, the use of statistical principles to be more effective leaders, ways that statisticians can shape and influence their organizations, and the challenges and rewards of being an institutional leader. This session aims to provide guidance and inspiration for statisticians to have a greater impact within and beyond their professional environments through effective leadership.
