Session Description:
In this memorial session, we would like to discuss the life and work of our esteemed colleague Dr. Pilar Lim, who passed away peacefully on January 2023. She graduated from Wharton School of Business, where she earned a Ph.D. in Statistics. Pilar was a Senior Bio-statistician at Janssen for nearly 30 years. She was not only a great researcher but also a mentor, and friend who positively impacted the life of many around her. She was not only an active member of ASA but also many other organizations. Most recently, in 2022 she was the Chair of the Mental Health Statistics Section of the American Statistical Association. Her work on a few areas that we want to highlight in this memorial session are,
- Placebo response and the sequential parallel design:
- Estimands and Missing Data in CNS Trial
- Statistical Analysis Plan in Clinical Trials
In this session, we have three speakers who will talk about various contributions she made in each of these areas. In addition, we have Dr. Rosanne Lane from Janssen who worked with Pilar for more than 20 years to reflect on Pilar's contribution.
