In this introductory overview lecture, we will describe how statisticians can help facilitate evidence-based decision making in the field of practice known as program evaluation. Speakers will provide background on what program evaluation is, summarize statistical methods currently used to evaluate impact in program evaluations, and conclude with an evaluation leader's guidance for combining quantitative and qualitative methods to inform program-level decisions in the real world.
