Topic-Contributed Panel Session
Music City Center
Room: CC-Davidson Ballroom A3
The process of developing statistical software has many stages, from determining what features should go into a product to assisting customers with existing products. This panel brings together representatives from various stages of the statistical software development process. The panelists include statisticians who serve as development managers, programmers, test engineers, documentation writers, and technical support representatives. The panel seeks to introduce attendees to some lesser-known career paths for statisticians with graduate degrees.

The format of the session will be a chair and 5 panelists.

This session will appeal to students and early career statisticians who might be interested in a career in statistical software development. It will also appeal to users of statistical software who are curious about the process behind the creation of statistical software at JMP Statistical Discovery LLC.
