Data Science is a transdisciplinary field encompassing Computing, Mathematics and Statistics. To produce a set of competencies four leading organizations joined force to work on this mission. This effort was led by Association of Computing Machinery ACM with representatives from the American Statistical Association (ASA), the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). This task force has been working together to identify and advocate for topics that are considered "core" in the training of undergraduates in Data Science. This panel would also serve as a means to socialize the committee's recommendation and solicit feedback and input on this process.
