TL05: Lessons Learned in Modernizing Survey Editing Systems

Modernizing governmental statistical surveys is essential in the current world of big data. Traditional government survey statistics often rely on manual interventions, which cost agencies time and resources. Leveraging new technologies such as AI, cloud computing, and open-source software can lead to gains in the efficiency, reliability, and consistency of survey outputs. Automated edits and imputations are a cost-effective way to improve survey data quality and consistency. This round table will discuss experiences implementing automated edits and imputations in federal agencies, and the lessons learned in modernizing survey editing systems.
