Amid the rapid growth of AI, machine learning, and big data, survey statistics is more important than ever. Through rigorous study design, data collection, and analytical methods, survey statistics provides essential tools not only for drawing probability samples to support population inference but also for improving the representativeness of nonprobability samples. At the same time, the field faces both exciting opportunities and pressing challenges. Harnessing rapidly evolving AI and machine learning tools to advance survey research is a priority. Equally important is engaging early-career professionals and students to collaborate on these issues. This invited panel will bring together leaders from academia and industry to reflect on innovations, challenges, and opportunities in survey research and education.
