Statistical practitioners often navigate demanding workloads, complex collaborations, and shifting priorities, while also trying to maintain productivity and well-being. This short course is designed to equip statisticians with tools for self-management, attention optimization, and strategic planning. Participants will explore the evolution of the nature of work, contrast pseudo-productivity to genuine productivity, and distill key takeaways self-management leaders. Participants will also get hands-on tutorials
on time block planning and building their own statistical practice workflow system. Finally, additional resources, as well as personal experiences, will be shared and discussed so that participants can explore the strategies that work best for them. From this interactive short-course, participants will gain actionable strategies to foster calm, clarity, and control in their daily practice. Afterwards, participants should be able to work more intentionally, communicate their impact, and sustain long-term effectiveness in collaborative research environments.
