The circular economy (CE) is an alternative model of production and consumption in which products are kept in use for as long as possible and are repaired, reused, or recycled when they reach the end of their useful life moving society from a 'take-make-dispose' economic model to a circular alternative With almost 100 CE related regulations or standards either in effect or upcoming, this transition may be the biggest challenge for Product Stewards in the near future. This showcase will report early findings from a research project conducted by Yordas for Hitachi and the Japanese National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. The research seeks to gain a comprehensive understanding of organizational efforts worldwide in the move to the CE and to shape discussions and foster best practices for implementing and standardizing circular economy principles.
